Lāhainā Banyan Court
Lāhainā's historic banyan tree is one of the most remarkable natural subjects you will find anywhere, with its sprawling canopy of aerial roots, massive interlocking trunks, and cathedral-like interior creating endless compositional possibilities. Shoot from ground level looking up through the trunks to emphasize the scale and complexity, or step back to the surrounding sidewalk to capture the full canopy spreading over the town square. A wide-angle lens works well for dramatic perspectives inside the tree, while a standard zoom lets you isolate individual root columns and textural details.
