Mount Royal Lookout
Perched on the eastern flank of Mount Royal, this iconic overlook gives you a sweeping panoramic view across the Montreal skyline, stretching from the downtown core out toward the St. Lawrence River. The broad stone terrace offers plenty of room to work, and you can frame the cityscape with or without the crowd barriers depending on how clean you want the foreground. A wide angle lens handles the full panoramic sweep well, while a short telephoto lets you compress the skyline and isolate specific buildings. Sunrise is the standout time to visit, with warm light hitting the glass towers from the east and mist occasionally sitting over the river in cooler months. The lookout is easily reached by a short walk or shuttle from the parking area on Camillien-Houde Parkway, and weekday mornings are noticeably quieter than weekends. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
