Mount Royal Park
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, this sprawling hilltop park sits at the heart of Montreal and offers one of the best elevated views of the city skyline and the St. Lawrence River beyond. The Kondiaronk Belvedere is the main lookout and your primary target, giving you a wide, unobstructed panorama perfect for a 24-35mm wide angle shot. Sunrise brings soft, warm light directly onto the downtown towers from the east, while blue hour and dusk are equally rewarding as the city lights come alive below you. In autumn, the surrounding maple forest turns vivid red and orange, making mid-October an ideal time to visit for foreground color framing the skyline. The park is easily accessible by foot, bike, or bus, and the belvedere has plenty of room to set up a tripod. Trails deeper into the park reward those looking for quieter forest compositions away from the crowds. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
