Perched at the top of Mount Royal Park, this sweeping lookout gives you an unobstructed panoramic view of the Montreal skyline stretching across the St. Lawrence River valley. The wide terrace lets you work different focal lengths, from a wide shot that captures the full cityscape to a compressed telephoto frame that stacks the downtown towers together. Shoot facing east and you have the city spread out before you, with landmarks like the Olympic Stadium visible on clear days. Sunrise brings soft, directional light that skims across the buildings and warms the skyline, while blue hour after sunset is particularly strong here, with city lights balanced against a deep indigo sky. The lookout is easily reached by a paved path from the parking area on Voie Camillien-Houde, and the terrace is wide enough to set up a tripod without blocking foot traffic.
