Nisser Lake offers a striking composition where still Nordic water meets the smooth granite face of Hægefjell, a broad dome of bare rock that rises cleanly above the far shoreline. You can reach the water's edge in just a few steps from Route 41, making this one of the more effortless waterfront stops in Telemark. The classic shot frames the dome as a backdrop with the lake filling the foreground; a wide angle lens works well here to capture both the expanse of water and the full curve of the rock face. Look for calm conditions to pick up reflections, which can double the drama of the scene considerably. Sunset is the prime window, when warm light rakes across the granite and turns the lake surface golden. Arrive a little early to find your footing on the shoreline rocks and settle into the right framing before the light peaks. (Nissedal, Telemark, Norway)
