Parkview Square

Parkview Square is a stunning Art Deco skyscraper in Singapore that photographers love for its dramatic bronze statues, ornate facades, and the kind of moody grandeur that earns it the local nickname "the Gotham Building." Shoot from directly across the street on Nicoll Highway to capture the full vertical sweep of the tower, or get close to the entrance to fill your frame with the intricate golden detailing and larger-than-life bronze figures flanking the lobby. A wide-angle lens in the 16-35mm range works well for the full facade, while a longer focal length helps isolate the sculptural details higher up. Overcast days are ideal since they reduce harsh shadows on the textured stonework and give the building a naturally cinematic, brooding quality. Early morning gets you the quietest streets for a clean composition without heavy traffic or pedestrians cluttering the foreground. (Singapore, Central Region, Singapore)
