LASALLE College of the Arts is a striking contemporary building made up of interlocking irregular volumes clad in aluminum panels, creating a sculptural mass that rewards close inspection as much as wide-angle views. The fragmented facades, sharp geometric angles, and play of light across the metallic surfaces give you plenty to work with throughout the day. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range helps you capture the full scale and dynamic geometry from street level, while moving in closer lets you isolate individual planes and abstract patterns. Shoot in the morning when soft directional light rakes across the facades and brings out texture and depth. The surrounding open plaza gives you room to step back and include the full structure, or you can look for compressed compositions by standing directly beneath the overhanging volumes. The building is in a walkable arts district and easily accessible on foot from Bras Basah MRT. (Bras Basah, Singapore)
