Ponte dell'Accademia View
Ponte dell'Accademia is one of Venice's wooden foot bridges crossing the Grand Canal, and the views from its apex are among the most iconic in the city. Standing at the top of the bridge, you get a sweeping look down the canal in both directions, with gondolas, vaporetti, and ornate palazzo facades lining the water. Face northwest toward the curve of the canal for the classic postcard composition, or turn southeast for a quieter, less photographed perspective. Golden hour and blue hour both work beautifully here, with warm light catching the facades and reflecting on the water. A wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range helps capture the full sweep of the canal, though a short telephoto lets you compress the layers of architecture. The bridge gets crowded during the day, so arrive early in the morning to have space and calmer water. (Venice, Veneto, Italy)
