Porto City Hall
Porto City Hall is an imposing building sitting at the top of Aliados Avenue. It was originally built in the early 20th century and still used for municipal offices today. The building has a wide, symmetrical layout with a tall central clock tower that anchors the whole square. It is set back from the avenue, which gives you plenty of space to line up clean shots looking straight up the street toward the building. The long perspective of Aliados Avenue makes this a great spot for leading lines, especially if you centre the tower in your frame. You can also move closer to focus on details like the stonework and tower, or shoot from the sides for a different angle. It works well at different times of day, with softer light helping bring out the detail in the stone and evening adding more atmosphere to the square. (Porto, Portugal)
