Saxer Lücke
Saxer Lücke is a striking rocky ridge in the Alpstein region of northeastern Switzerland, known for its dramatic silhouette and sweeping views over the Rhine Valley. The ridge is a favorite among photographers for its sharp limestone peaks, deep alpine valleys, and ever-changing mountain light. Access to Saxer Lücke varies with several scenic trails ranging from a challenging 16 km hike to an easier option that includes a cable car from Frümsen followed by a moderate 3 km walk. The area is especially photogenic at sunrise or sunset when the light casts long shadows across the rugged landscape. (Rüte, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Switzerland)
