Sharp Peak is the highest point in Sai Kung East Country Park, a dramatic rocky summit that rewards the steep climb with sweeping panoramic views over High Island Reservoir, the rugged coastline, and the South China Sea stretching to the horizon. From the top, you can shoot wide across the bay toward the hexagonal rock columns of the geopark, or turn inland to capture layered ridgelines fading into haze. A wide-angle lens handles the expansive vistas well, while a telephoto lets you compress the islands and distant headlands. Early morning is ideal, with mist sometimes sitting in the valleys below and soft light hitting the water. The trail from Sai Wan village is challenging, with loose rocky sections near the summit, so wear proper footwear and start early to avoid midday heat and crowds on weekends. (Sai Kung, Hong Kong)
