Store Nup

Store Nup is a dramatic vertical rock face rising sharply from the highland plateau of Haukelifjell, one of the most striking geological formations visible along highway E134 in Norway. The sheer cliff wall dominates the landscape and rewards wide-angle shooting, especially when you frame it against moody skies or low clouds that cling to the summit. Pull off along E134 and shoot from the roadside or venture a short distance toward the base for a more imposing low-angle perspective that emphasizes the scale of the wall. Overcast days with soft diffused light bring out the texture and color of the rock, while golden hour in summer creates warm contrast against the surrounding moorland. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well for capturing both the cliff and the open plateau in a single frame.
