The Audience Rogers Centre
Mounted along the northwestern exterior wall of the Rogers Centre, Michael Snow's "The Audience" is a row of 14 oversized fiberglass sports fans frozen in expressive poses, cheering, gesturing, and leaning over an imaginary railing. The figures are inherently playful and work well photographed straight-on with a wide or standard lens to capture the full group, or up close with a short telephoto to isolate individual characters and their exaggerated expressions. Overcast days are ideal since the sculptures sit in mixed sun and shadow depending on the time of year, and flat light brings out the color and detail without harsh contrast. Position yourself on the sidewalk below and shoot upward slightly to emphasize the figures against the sky, or frame them with the curved stadium architecture as a backdrop. The area is pedestrian-friendly and easy to access without any admission required. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
