Canoe Landing Park is a narrow green space in Toronto's CityPlace neighbourhood, best known for two striking public art installations by Douglas Coupland: a giant red canoe tilted skyward and a series of smooth, undulating Float Forms sculptures. The oversized canoe is your main subject, and shooting low from ground level with a wide angle lens lets you use it as a bold foreground element against the dense cluster of condo towers rising behind it. The Float Forms work well as leading lines or layered abstracts when shot tight with a longer focal length. Overcast days soften the harsh shadows between buildings and bring out the red of the canoe, though golden hour light from the west warms the scene nicely. The park is flat, accessible, and easy to walk in any direction to find your frame. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
