Puente de Luz
Puente de Luz is a striking pedestrian footbridge in downtown Toronto, known for its sweeping curved white arches and steel tension cables that make it a strong architectural subject on its own, as well as a platform for capturing the surrounding cityscape. Shooting from the middle of the bridge gives you a natural leading line perspective with the cables converging toward the arch overhead, while positioning yourself at either end lets you frame the structure against the CN Tower or the downtown skyline. Blue hour and full dark are the most rewarding times to visit, when the bridge's built-in lighting glows and the city lights reflect off the wet pavement on rainy nights. A wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range works well for the architecture, and a tripod is worth bringing for longer exposures after dark. The bridge is accessible year-round and sits near Union Station. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
