Toronto's Harbourfront stretches along the north shore of Lake Ontario, giving you a wide, unobstructed view of the city skyline rising behind the marina. The combination of sailboats and vessels in the foreground with the CN Tower and downtown towers behind makes for a classic cityscape composition, and the long wooden boardwalk gives you plenty of room to shift your framing. Shoot from the water's edge to keep boats low in the frame and let the skyline dominate, or crouch down to catch reflections on calm mornings. Golden hour and blue hour both work well here, with sunrise offering soft light on the eastern-facing parts of the boardwalk and minimal crowds. A 24-70mm lens covers most situations, from wide environmental shots to tighter frames isolating the CN Tower against the sky. The area is fully accessible and easy to walk from Union Station.
