Perched above one of Norway's most dramatic mountain roads, this architecturally striking observation deck gives you a bird's-eye view of Trollstigen's eleven hairpin switchbacks cutting down a steep valley wall, with the white ribbon of Stigfossen waterfall crashing alongside. The classic shot frames the full cascade of bends using a wide-angle lens, ideally 16-24mm, with the waterfall anchoring one side of the frame and the valley floor far below. A longer lens lets you compress the switchbacks and pick out cars crawling up the road for a sense of scale. Overcast days actually work well here by softening the contrast on the bright waterfall and keeping the lush green slopes saturated. Arrive early before tour buses fill the viewing platforms, as the walkways extend in multiple directions and reward those who explore past the main deck for less obvious angles.
