Built in 1905 and largely unchanged since, Barons Court is one of the most photogenic stations on the London Underground, with its warm terracotta facade, Art Nouveau lettering, and distinctive platform benches featuring enamelled metal name panels, the only ones of their kind on the entire network. On the platforms, position yourself low to use the benches as foreground elements, drawing the eye toward the tunnel mouth, or shoot straight along the platform edge to capture the curve and tiled walls in compression. A standard to short telephoto lens works well in the confined space. The covered platforms mean lighting is consistent throughout the day, though a quieter period, such as mid-morning on a weekday, gives you more freedom to compose without crowds. On the exterior, step back across the road to capture the full terracotta frontage with its period detailing. (London, England, United Kingdom)
