Cromer Esplanade runs along the seafront of this classic Norfolk seaside town, giving you a frontline view of one of England's most photogenic piers, a Victorian structure stretching 151 metres into the North Sea with a distinctive theatre building at its end. The pier works beautifully as a leading line from the beach below, or as a framing element when shot from the esplanade level with a medium telephoto lens to compress the distance. Low tide reveals wet sand and interesting textures beneath the pier's legs, ideal for reflections and foreground interest. Shoot from the beach at either end of the esplanade for wider compositions that include the chalk cliffs flanking the town. Golden hour at sunset is particularly rewarding as the warm light catches the pier's white structure against the open sea. The esplanade is fully accessible by foot from the town centre, with parking nearby. (Cromer, Norfolk, England)
