Edith Lake is a quiet, photogenic alpine lake in Jasper National Park, offering that signature turquoise glacial water set against a dramatic backdrop of rugged peaks and dense boreal forest. Because motorized boats are banned here, the surface stays glassy and calm, making it ideal for reflection shots, especially in the early morning before any wind picks up. Position yourself along the shoreline and use the tree line or a foreground of rocks and vegetation to frame the mountains behind. A wide angle lens works well to capture the full sweep of water, forest, and peaks together, while a short telephoto can compress the layers nicely. The lake is accessible via a short, easy walk from the parking area off Pyramid Lake Road, making it a straightforward stop. Overcast days soften the light and help saturate the turquoise tones even further. (Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada)
