Humber Bay Arch Bridge
This elegant pedestrian bridge curves over the mouth of the Humber River where it meets Lake Ontario, offering one of the best unobstructed views of the Toronto skyline from the western waterfront. The twin white arches and cable stays make for a strong graphic subject on their own, but the real draw is using the bridge as a foreground element with the downtown towers reflected in calm water below. Shoot from the shoreline beneath the bridge for a dramatic low angle framing the arches against the sky, or walk to the midpoint of the bridge to use the railing cables as converging lines leading toward the city. Sunset is the prime time here, with warm golden light hitting the skyline directly in front of you to the east; a wide to standard zoom in the 24-50mm range handles most compositions well. The path is flat and accessible year round, and the area stays open after dark for blue hour and cityscape shots. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
