Jalan Pantai Suluban is a clifftop road on the Bukit Peninsula that delivers dramatic views down into the rocky coves and turquoise surf breaks that make Uluwatu one of the most iconic wave locations in Southeast Asia. From various pullouts along the road, you can shoot down onto the reef breaks with surfers riding the famous left-handers, framing the action against the layered limestone cliffs and caves that define this coastline. A telephoto lens in the 200-400mm range lets you compress the scene and isolate surfers against the waves, while a wider lens captures the full scale of the cliffs and ocean together. Morning light from the east is clean and direct, casting texture across the rock faces, though late afternoon gives warmer tones and the surfers tend to be most active then. Access is straightforward by scooter or car, and several natural ledges along the road offer stable spots to set up. (Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia)
