Karang Boma Cliff is a dramatic limestone promontory on Bali's Bukit Peninsula, dropping nearly 100 meters straight down to a churning reef below, with unobstructed ocean views stretching to the horizon. The jagged cliff edge creates a natural foreground that pairs beautifully with the sea, and on clear days you can spot Uluwatu Temple perched on a distant headland to the south, giving you a compelling layered composition. Sunset is the prime time to shoot here, with the sun dropping directly over the water and painting the sky in deep oranges and purples. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the full sweep of the cliffs and ocean together, while a telephoto lets you compress the distance and pull Uluwatu into the frame. There is typically a small entrance fee; arrive 30 to 45 minutes before sunset to secure your preferred spot along the edge. Stay well back from the unguarded drop and watch your footing on the uneven rock surface. (Pecatu, Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia)
