Perched on the south bank of the Thames, Greenwich offers one of the most iconic cityscape compositions in London, with Canary Wharf's glass towers reflecting light across the river and the historic Cutty Sark docked nearby. The classic shot frames the financial district straight ahead from the riverfront promenade near Greenwich Pier, with the Thames in the foreground to add depth and movement. A wide angle lens works well here for the full skyline sweep, while a longer focal length compresses the towers for a more dramatic effect. Blue hour and golden hour both reward you with strong light, but overcast days can also work well by softening reflections on the water.
