Painted Hall
Often called Britain's Sistine Chapel, this stunning location features one of the most beautiful baroque interiors in all of Europe. Meticulously painted by Sir James Thornhill in the early 1700s, the work took 19 years to complete. The space was originally meant to be a grand dining hall for pensioners from the Royal Navy. Eventually, it began to be used as a ceremonial space and hosted events such as the lying in state of Lord Nelson in the 1800s. Today it is frequented by the public and tourists. Visitors can purchase tickets on the Old Royal Naval College website to visit the space. (Greenwich, London, England, UK)
