Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge stretches 50 meters across a deep forested gorge, with Lynn Creek churning through the rocks below and old-growth Douglas firs towering on either side. The bridge itself makes a strong compositional anchor, and you can use its lines as a natural lead-in by shooting from either end with a wide angle lens, around 16 to 24mm, to exaggerate the depth and height. The canyon walls and dense rainforest canopy filter light beautifully, meaning overcast days and misty mornings often produce better results than harsh midday sun, with soft even light that brings out the greens and the texture of the water below. Arrive early to avoid crowds, as the bridge fills up quickly on weekends. The park is free to enter and a short walk from the parking area, so getting there at opening gives you the best chance of a clean shot. (North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
