Mount Seymour
Mount Seymour offers one of the most rewarding panoramic viewpoints above Vancouver, with sweeping views across Burrard Inlet, Indian Arm, and the Lower Mainland stretching all the way to Mount Baker on clear days. The summit plateau gives you room to work multiple compositions, from wide-angle shots taking in the full skyline to tighter frames isolating the inlet against the mountains. The real draw for photographers is cloud inversion, most common between January and March, when a sea of white fills the valleys below while you stand in clear sunlight above it. Arrive early to catch the best light and to position yourself before clouds shift. The snowshoeing route to the summit is reasonably well maintained in winter, but bring microspikes or snowshoes and dress for cold. A wide-angle lens works well for landscapes, while a telephoto lets you compress the layers of mountains and mist. (Mount Seymour Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada)
