Sitting just off the Seine near the Eiffel Tower, this striking museum is one of Paris's most photogenic buildings, largely thanks to its extraordinary living wall, where 15,000 plants from 150 species cascade across 800 square meters of facade in a dense tapestry of greens. The vertical garden, designed by botanist Patrick Blanc, is the main subject worth your attention here, and shooting it straight-on from the Rue de l'Université side gives you the full impact of the texture and color variation. A wide or standard prime lens works well to capture the whole wall, while a longer focal length lets you compress the layers of foliage into abstract detail shots. Overcast days are ideal since flat light reduces harsh shadows across the uneven surface and keeps the greens saturated. Early morning means fewer pedestrians and cleaner foreground space on the pavement below. (Paris, Île-de-France, France)
