View from the Eiffel Tower
Shooting from the Eiffel Tower gives you one of the most iconic urban panoramas in the world, with Paris spreading out in every direction from a height of up to 276 meters. The second floor offers a slightly less crowded vantage point with the iron lattice of the tower itself available as a framing element, while the top floor opens up the full 360-degree view. Look northwest toward the Seine bending through the city, or frame the Trocadéro gardens directly below for strong symmetry. Golden hour and blue hour are the best times to shoot, with sunset casting warm light across the rooftops and the city lights beginning to glow. A wide-angle lens handles the sweeping cityscape well, though a short telephoto lets you isolate landmarks like Sacré-Coeur or Notre-Dame. Arrive early to beat crowds and bring a compact tripod, as handheld shooting in low light through the metal grilles can be tricky. (Paris, Île-de-France, France)
