Carousel de la Tour Eiffel
This two-level vintage carousel sits just north of the Eiffel Tower, giving you one of the rare foreground elements that can anchor an otherwise wide-open plaza composition. Position yourself low and close to the carousel to let it fill the lower third of the frame while the Tower rises behind it, or shoot through the spinning horses with a longer focal length to compress the distance between the two subjects. Blue hour is the sweet spot here, when the carousel's warm bulbs glow against the deep blue sky and the Tower's golden lights begin to fire up, especially during the hourly sparkle show after dark. A wide-to-mid zoom around 24-50mm handles most compositions well. The carousel operates seasonally, so check ahead before making it central to your shot. Crowds thin out considerably after 9pm, giving you cleaner foreground space to work with. (Paris, Île-de-France, France)
