North Head Cliffs

North Head Cliffs sit along the rugged sandstone edge of Sydney Harbour National Park, offering sweeping views across the Pacific Ocean, the harbour entrance, and the Sydney coastline stretching south. The eroded cliff faces and layered rock formations give you strong foreground interest, while the open ocean and distant headlands fill the background. Walk the Fairfax Track and look for the natural lookout points where the cliff drops away sharply, giving you unobstructed sightlines in multiple directions. A wide-angle lens works well for capturing both the textured sandstone underfoot and the expansive seascape beyond. Golden hour light in the late afternoon wraps the ochre-coloured cliffs in warm tones and adds depth to the rock faces; sunrise brings softer, cooler light over the ocean. The track is well-maintained and easy to walk, so you can move between several vantage points without much effort. (Sydney Harbour National Park, New South Wales, Australia)
