Sea Gulls are almost always perched on the footings of a new wharf in Ochre Pit Cove. With more gulls than available posts there is usually a continuous competition for position being played out as the gulls awaited the return of fishing boats and the eventual ritual of "gutting and cleaning" the days catch, where the entrails were thrown into the harbour. (Ochre Pit Cove, Newfoundland Labrador, Canada).
