Polson Pier
Polson Pier sits along Toronto's inner harbour, giving you an unobstructed west-facing view of the downtown skyline reflected across the water. The wide wooden dock lets you position yourself freely, and shooting with a telephoto lens helps compress the skyline and stack the towers for a dramatic effect; a wide angle works well if you want to include the pier itself as a leading line toward the city. Golden hour and blue hour are the strongest times to visit, as the warm light catches the glass towers before transitioning into the electric glow of the city at night. Reflections on calm mornings can be exceptional, so check the wind before heading out. The pier is easy to reach by car or bike, parking is available nearby, and the open deck means you have plenty of room to set up a tripod without obstruction. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
