Singapore Botanic Gardens
Spread across 82 hectares of lush greenery near Orchard Road, Singapore Botanic Gardens offers photographers an extraordinary range of subjects, from towering rain trees with sweeping canopies to glassy swan lakes, manicured lawns, and the famous National Orchid Garden with over 1,000 species in bloom. The heritage rain trees along the main path are a strong compositional anchor, their wide-spreading branches creating natural frames and leading lines. Shoot wide to capture the full canopy scale, or go tight on individual orchid blooms with a macro or short telephoto lens. Early morning, especially around 7am, gives you soft diffused light, mist hanging over the lawns, and far fewer visitors. The garden is well-maintained and fully accessible, with multiple entry gates; the Tanglin Gate entrance drops you closest to the Swan Lake and the most photogenic older sections.
