View of Clock Tower

Perched at the edge of the Old Port of Montreal, this spot gives you a striking waterfront composition combining the Jacques Cartier Bridge stretching across the St. Lawrence River with the historic Clock Tower rising in the foreground. The tower's stone facade and clean vertical lines pair naturally with the bridge's steel geometry, and you can shift your position along the quay to adjust how much of each element fills the frame. A wide angle lens works well for capturing both structures together, while a longer focal length lets you compress the bridge and isolate details. Golden hour light in the late afternoon catches the tower beautifully, and blue hour is excellent for balancing the city glow with the darkening sky. The waterfront promenade is flat and easily accessible year round, and the open quay gives you plenty of room to experiment with low angles and leading lines along the dock edge.
