Weggis Dock
Weggis Dock sits along the calm shoreline of Lake Lucerne, offering one of the most serene waterfront compositions in central Switzerland, with wooden jetties stretching into glassy water and the dramatic Alps rising on the opposite shore. The small docks make excellent foreground elements, especially when you get low to the water and use them as leading lines pointing toward the snow-capped peaks. Early morning is the best time to visit, when mist often hangs over the lake and the light is soft and diffuse; the water is typically mirror-flat before the afternoon wind picks up. A wide-angle lens lets you capture the full sweep of mountains and lake together, while a longer focal length compresses the Alps beautifully behind the dock structures.
