Avenue Carnot View
Avenue Carnot stretches northwest from the Arc de Triomphe, offering one of the cleaner residential approaches to the monument compared to the busier Champs-Élysées side. From the right position along the avenue, you can frame the Arc de Triomphe as a strong central subject with the Eiffel Tower visible in the far distance over the rooftops, creating a layered composition that captures two of Paris's most iconic landmarks in a single shot. A telephoto lens in the 70-200mm range helps compress the scene and isolate that background tower. Shoot during blue hour, just after sunset, when the monuments are lit and the sky still holds color; this also reduces harsh shadows from midday sun. Long exposures will smooth out traffic and pedestrian movement significantly, so bring a tripod. The boulevard is wide enough to position yourself along the center median for a symmetrical composition. (Paris, Île-de-France, France)
