Briksdalsbreen

Briksdalsbreen, an arm of the massive Jostedalsbreen Glacier, cascades dramatically down a steep valley in Vestland county, creating one of Norway’s most photogenic glacial landscapes. Surrounded by towering peaks and lush greenery, the glacier’s vivid blue ice and fractured surface offer captivating contrasts against the rocky cliffs and alpine terrain. A well-maintained trail leads from the Briksdal Mountain Lodge to a viewing area near the glacier's base, accessible via foot or troll car transport. The area is especially striking in spring and early summer when meltwater feeds nearby waterfalls like Kleivafossen.
