Passy Viaduct
This iron railway viaduct carries the Paris Métro Line 6 across the Seine between the Passy and Bir-Hakeim stations, offering one of the most layered and graphic architectural compositions in the city. You can position yourself on the Quai de Grenelle or Quai Branly to shoot along the length of the bridge, using its repetitive iron arches and columns as a strong leading line toward the Eiffel Tower, which sits neatly in the background. Getting underneath the structure reveals a dramatic compression of steel geometry overhead, especially effective with a wide-angle lens between 16mm and 24mm. Overcast days work well here by softening harsh shadows within the ironwork, though blue hour adds a moody atmosphere when the bridge and tower both light up. The area is easily walkable from Bir-Hakeim station, and the riverside paths give you flexibility to shift your angle and find the framing that balances the bridge with the tower behind it.
