Centre Island Pier
Centre Island Pier is a Y-shaped concrete jetty extending into Lake Ontario, offering one of the cleanest and most unobstructed views of the Toronto skyline you will find anywhere in the city. The symmetrical arms of the pier create strong leading lines that draw the eye directly toward the downtown towers, making it easy to build a compelling composition. Position yourself near the base of the Y and shoot through the middle to frame the skyline with water on both sides, or walk to the outer observation deck for a wide panoramic perspective. A wide-angle lens works well for the full skyline, while a telephoto compresses the buildings into a dramatic cluster. Golden hour and blue hour are both excellent here, with sunrise giving you soft warm light directly behind the city. The pier is accessible via the Toronto Islands ferry and is generally quiet in the early morning. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
