Capela do Senhor da Pedra is a small chapel built directly on a rocky outcrop along the coast in Vila Nova de Gaia, just south of Porto. The hexagonal structure sits surrounded by the ocean, which gives it a really striking and unusual setting. It is an easy place to build compositions, whether you keep things simple with the chapel against the horizon or include the surrounding rocks and waves for more texture. Sunset is the best time to shoot, with warm light hitting the building and water, though changing tides can completely alter how the scene looks. You can walk out to the chapel at low tide, but it is worth keeping an eye on the water the surroundings change quickly as the tide comes in. (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal)
