The Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre sits 168 metres above downtown Vancouver, offering a 360-degree panoramic view from an enclosed observation deck with floor-to-ceiling windows. You can shoot in every direction, taking in the dense city skyline, the North Shore mountains, Burrard Inlet, and Stanley Park all from a single vantage point. Midday light works surprisingly well here since the height reduces street-level haze, but golden hour is the standout session, especially shooting west toward the mountains as the sun drops and warm light catches the water and peaks. A wide-angle lens handles the broad cityscapes, while a short telephoto lets you isolate the mountains or compress the layers of buildings against the inlet. The windows are kept reasonably clean, so shooting close to the glass minimizes reflections. Entry requires a paid admission ticket, and the deck is open year-round.
