Waterfront Station Street View

Waterfront Station Street View - Photo by whereitsb1 / 1

Waterfront Station anchors one of Vancouver's most layered urban scenes, where the historic 1914 Beaux-Arts terminal building meets the modern glass towers of the financial district and the busy flow of commuters, cyclists, and street life. Shoot from street level to use the station's grand colonnaded facade as a backdrop, or cross to Granville Square and climb the pedestrian bridge for an elevated perspective that takes in the full sweep of the intersection below. From the bridge, a wide or standard zoom lens works well for compressing the street grid and capturing light trails during evening rush hour. Blue hour and after dark are particularly rewarding here, when the station's warm lighting plays against the cooler glow of surrounding office towers. The area stays active well into the evening, giving you a steady stream of subjects and movement to work with. (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
