The Jussieu campus atrium is a striking interior space at Sorbonne University, defined by bold geometric cutouts, layered walkways, and a vivid color palette that gives the whole space an almost cinematic energy. Look up from the ground floor to capture the stacked pill-shaped openings as they repeat across levels, creating strong graphic patterns and depth. A wide-angle lens works well here for compressing those layers into a single frame, while a longer focal length lets you isolate individual color details or frame figures on the upper walkways for scale. Midday is surprisingly effective since the space relies on artificial and diffused interior light rather than direct sun, keeping contrast manageable throughout the day. The atrium is accessible during university hours on weekdays; arrive early in the morning to avoid student foot traffic if you want cleaner compositions. (Paris, Île-de-France, France)
